"Awakening" is a reflection on my perception of time, on traveling and moving within my own life, into the past, to the place where memories preserve the sense of the duration of time. A place where stashes are hidden, secrets from childhood, messages—reminders that time has not changed. What has changed is my perception of events.
I wonder: why is this feeling of serenity, peace, leisure, and freedom being lost? The space I recreate in my work is a place of strength, of my formation, a cornerstone in the foundation of my perception of the world.
While working on the project, my experiences prompted me to seek stability and sustainability. Mentally, I traveled back to my childhood, to the village, to the house where I grew up.
This prompted me to recreate a retrospective object in which one can feel protected, since for many people, childhood is a place of carefreeness and joyful anticipation of the future.
