A book without pages refers to ancient forms of recording knowledge—tablet—and goes beyond the literal text, with symbolic meaning that emphasizes the idea of eternity. Destruction becomes an act of creation.
With our work, we raise the question: what comes first? Borges, or us?
The inspiration for this work came from Jorge Luis Borges’s
"The Rose of Paracelsus," which led us to reflect on the nature of authorship and the primacy of the word.
Our project explores language as an art form through the deconstruction and transformation of literary text using blackout and whiteout techniques. This symbolizes the process of purification or liberation from old meanings—to create a new statement that is both a manifesto of our group and an artistic object.
We are participants in the process of the collapse and rebirth of form-meaning.
